DC-DC Converters PCB Mount TypeInstruction Manual1 Function1.1 Input Voltage Range! If Input voltage value doesn’t fall within specifi cations, a unit maynot operate in accordance with specifi cations and/or fail.1.2 Overcurrent Protection!Overcurrent protection is built-in and comes into effect at over105% of the rated current.Overcurrent protection prevents the unit from short circuit andovercurrent condition. The unit automatically recovers when thefault condition is cleared.1.3 Isolation! For a receiving inspection, such as Hi-Pot test, increase (decrease)the voltage gradually for a start (shut down). Avoid usingHi-Pot tester with timer because it may generate voltage a fewtimes higher than the applied voltage, at ON/OFF of a timer.!In the case of use in locations exposed to constant voltage betweenprimary and secondary is applied, please contact us.1.4 Remote ON/OFF!You can turn the power supply ON or OFF without turning inputpower ON or OFF through the pin terminal RC.!Please keep the voltage level of the pin terminal RC(VRC) at 9.0Vor below.Table 1.1 Pin Specifi cation of Remote ON/OFFVoltage Level of the pin terminal RC (VRC)OutputOpen or Short or 0V [ VRC [ 0.3VON2.0V [ VRC [ 9.0VOFF1.5 Output Voltage Adjustment Range (MHFS3/MHFS6)!The output voltage is adjustable through an external potentiometer.!To increase the output voltage, turn the potentiometer so that theresistance value between 2 and 3 becomes small.!Please use a wire as short as possible to connect to the potentiometerand connect it from the pin on the power supply side. Temperaturecoeffi cient deteriorates when some types of resistors andpotentiometers are used. Please use the following types.Resistor Metal Film Type, Temperature Coefficient of±100ppm/C or belowPotentiometer Cermet Type, Temperature Coefficient of±300ppm/C or below! When the output voltage adjustment is used, note that the outputmay be stopped when output voltage is set too high.+VoutTRM-Vout23ExternalResistor R11ExternalPotentiometerExternalResistor R2(a) Single OutputLoadFig.1.3 Connecting External DevicesTable 1.2 List of External Devices (MHFS3)Output VoltageConstant of External Device [W]Potentiometer R1 R23.3V (-5%, +10%)1k6801505V (-5%, +20%)1k330339V (-5%, +20%)5k6.8k68012V (-5%, +20%)5k12k1.2k15V (-5%, +20%)5k12k220ExternalCircuitVRC+VinRC3.3k3.3k-VinControlCircuitFig.1.1 Internal Circuits of Remote ON/OFFTable 1.3 List of External Devices (MHFS6)Output VoltageConstant of External Device [W]Potentiometer R1 R23.3V (-5%, +10%)1k6801505V (-5%, +20%)1k2.2k2209V (-5%, +20%)5k6.8k68012V (-5%, +20%)5k12k1.2k15V (-5%, +20%)5k12k220+Vin+VinRCRCInput 12V-VinInput 24, 48V-VinFig.1.2 Examples of Using an External Remote ON/OFF CircuitMH-14
