AC-DC Power Supplies Bus Converter?Power Module TypeInstruction Manual1 Standard ConnectionMethod1.1 Standard connection method! To use DPF1000, connection shown in Fig.1.1 and outside attachedcomponents are required. Through this connection, DCoutput voltage can be obtained from AC input voltage.AC input voltage and DC output voltage are not insulated.F1AC INNoiseFilterFGHeatsinkDPF series R1AC1F2+VOUT R TH1C1C2 C3AC2-VOUTAUXENAFGR2C4PC1LF1Fig.1.1 Standard connection methodTable 1.1 External componentsNo. Symbol Component Required characteristics1 F1 Input fuse2 F2 Output fuse3 C1 Input capacitor4 C2 Output capacitor5 C3 Holdup capacitor6 C4 Y-capacitor7 R1Inrush cuurentprotection resistor20A or lessSlow-blow type10A or lessNormal-blow type1.2 External componentsF1F2C1DPF-7DBS series+VINC5-VINRC12μF or more, Rated ripple current : 9A or more,Film capacitor, Safety approved type1μF or more, Rated ripple current : 8A or more,Film capacitor220 - 2200μFAluminum electrolytic capacitor2200pFSafety approved type4.7 - 10ΩWirewound Resistor with Thermal Cut-OffsInput fuse : 20A or lessFuse is not built-in at input side. In order to secure the safety, use the slow-blow type fuse F1 (20A or less).Output fuse : 10A or lessSince over current protection is not built-in, use the normalblowtype fuse F2 (10A or less) at output side to secure thesafety.Input capacitor : 2μF or moreInstall an external capacitor C1 (2μF or more) to keep stableoperation and to avoid failure. Use AC250V rated voltage withsafety approved and over 9A rated ripple current.C2 Output capacitor : 1μF or moreInstall an external capacitor C2 (1μF or more) as close as possibleto the output pins to keep stable operation and to avoidfailure. Use DC400V or higher rated voltage and over 8A ratedripple current capacitor.C3 Holdup capacitor : 220-2200μFSince holdup capacitor is not built-in, install electrolytic capacitorC3 (220 - 2200μF) close to the ouput pins. The rated ripplecurrent of C3 and the holdup time for module should be considered. The capacitor value should be within 220 to 2200μFto avoid failure.C4 Y-capacitor : 2200pFInstall an external capacitor C4 (2200pF) to keep stable operation.Use AC250V rated voltage with safety approved capacitor.R1 Inrush current protection resistor : 4.7 - 10ΩConnect a resistor between R pin and +Vout pin for inrush currentprotection. The surge capacity is required for R1, pleasecontact component mfg. Wirewound resistor with thermal cutoffstype is required.1.3 Wiring input pin!A noise fi lter is not built in this power supply. Connect an externalnoise fi lter to reduce the conducted noise to the power supply line.!A fuse to protect input is not built in. To assure safety, install aslow-blow fuse of 20A maximum to the input circuit F1.1.4 Connection of loaded circuit! For connecting the DBS/DHS series, see Fig.1.1.For details of F2, LF1 and C5, refer to the instruction manual forthe DBS/DHS series.LF1 may not be required, depending on the noise standard or thedesign of the printed circuit board. In this case, ENA and RC1canbe directly connected, without having PC1.!Control load current so that it may flow only when the terminalENA is at”L”. At”H”when inrush current protection circuit is notreleased, excessive current may be applied to the circuit.!For connection of loads except the series DBS/DHS, please contactCosel development department.1.5 Heatsink! The power supply adopts the conduction cooling system. Attach aheatsink to the aluminum base plate to cool the power supply for use.Refer to“Derating”.
