Products such as machinery and electrical equipment sold within the EU must display the CE marking, which indicates compliance with safety, quality, and environmental protection requirements. To apply the CE marking, products must conform to the applicable EC Directives.
The main directives generally applied to machinery and related electrical equipment are as follows:
(1) Machinery Directive(MD)
This directive applies to products that include moving parts, mainly industrial machinery.
<Examples of applicable products>
Machine tools, injection molding machines, automated equipment, construction machinery
Our products are certified to EN62368-1 and EN50178, which serve as safety indicators even when integrated into machinery.
However, since a power supply itself does not fall under the Machinery Directive, we do not issue a Declaration of Conformity for this directive.
(2) EMC Directive
This directive applies to equipment that may cause electromagnetic interference (EMI) or be affected by electromagnetic disturbances.
Two categories are required:
-Emission (EMI: Electromagnetic Interference)
-Immunity (EMS: Electromagnetic Susceptibility)
<Examples of applicable products>
Consumer electronics (radios, TVs), motors, power tools, NC equipment, industrial robot controllers, amateur radio devices, mobile phones, personal computers, etc.
The EMC Directive requires evaluation at the final equipment level.
Therefore, we do not issue a Declaration of Conformity for the EMC Directive.
However, EMI/EMS test data for our products is available on our website for reference.
(3) Low Voltage Directive (LVD)
This directive applies to products operating within:
-AC 50–1000 V
-DC 75–1500 V
It has been enforced since January 1997.
<Examples of applicable products>
Personal computers, keyboards, office equipment such as copiers
For our products, we prepare a Declaration of Conformity for the Low Voltage Directive.
(4) RoHS Directive
This directive restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
We have prepared the necessary RoHS compliance declarations for our products.
COSEL confirms CE marking compliance through self-declaration.
However, we do not issue a "(1)Machinery Directive", as power supplies are not subject to this directive.
We also do not issue an "(2)EMC Directive", because EMC conformity must be evaluated in the final assembled equipment.
For your reference, we can provide EMI/EMS test results for the stand-alone power supply.
We issue declarations for the "(3)Low Voltage Directive (LVD)" and the "(4)RoHS Directive", and prepare a Declaration of Conformity for the stand-alone power supply accordingly.
[About the CE Marking]
Our company performs CE marking within the scope of directives applicable to our products.
We provide Declarations of Conformity for:
③ Low Voltage Directive
④ RoHS Directive
If you require these documents, please contact us.
EMI/EMS evaluation data for the EMC Directive is also available for download from our website.
