Operating Principles & Precautions

Additional Functions

How to use remote sensing in series/parallel connection?

The remote sensing function can be used even when power supplies are connected in series or in parallel. Please refer to the following instructions for the wiring of the remote sensing lines. In addition, if the output voltage becomes unstable, please install capacitors (approximately 100 to 2,200μF) between the sensing lines (+S and −S) and the output lines (+V and −V).

1. Series operation

The wiring of the remote sensing lines depends on the type of load when the power supplies are used in series operation.

  • i.Series Operation Without Center Point (Used as a Single Output)
Use only the remote sensing terminal connected to the load. Please refer to Fig. 1.1.
  • ii.Series Operation With Center Point (Used as a Dual Output)
Connect the remote sensing terminals to each load corresponding to each power supply. Please refer to Fig. 1.2.

2. Parallel operation

The power supply must support parallel operation when used in a parallel configuration. Only the sensing terminals of the master unit should be connected to the load. Please refer to Fig. 2.1.
