About PCB (Polychlorinated Biphenyls)

COSEL's products do not intentionally contain PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls).
We recommend using metal spacers for these mounting holes.
The use of PCB-contaminated equipment is prohibited under Japan’s Chemical Substances Control Law (Class I Specified Chemical Substances) as well as the EU POPs (Persistent Organic Pollutants) Regulation (Annex I).
PCBs were historically used as insulating oils in electrical equipment, as heat transfer media for industrial heating and cooling applications, and in carbonless copy paper. Electrical equipment that may have contained PCBs includes high-voltage transformers, capacitors, and ballasts.
COSEL's products do not intentionally use PCBs in any application, including insulating materials in transformers. We comply with all applicable laws and regulations related to PCB.

  • *Chemical Substances Control Law Class 1 Specified Chemical Substances
These are chemical substances that are persistent, highly bioaccumulative, and exhibit long-term or chronic toxicity to higher-level predators. Regulations apply to their manufacture and import (in principle prohibited), restrictions on use, import restrictions on products designated by government ordinance, and obligations for Class-1 handlers to comply with standards and labeling requirements. PCBs were designated as a Class 1 Specified Chemical Substance on June 10, 1974.
