Q&A(FAQ) How long is the expected lifetime of a power supply with a built-in fan?
1. FAN Lifetime
The lifetime of a fan is greatly affected by ambient temperature. In general, it is said that the fan’s lifetime is reduced by half for every 14°C increase in ambient temperature. Therefore, please ensure adequate ventilation so that the internal temperature of the system does not rise excessively.

2. Air filter
Dust in the air can shorten the service life of the fan. Therefore, an air filter should be installed at the system’s air inlet to prevent dust from entering.
3. Humidity and Condensation
The grease used inside the fan may deteriorate if the fan is operated in a high-humidity environment. Therefore, the power supply should not be used or stored in high-humidity conditions whenever possible.
If the power supply is exposed to rainwater or to condensation caused by sudden temperature changes, this may adversely affect both the fan grease and the internal fan circuitry. In addition, moisture can affect the high-voltage circuits inside the power supply, potentially leading to insulation breakdown and eventual failure of the unit.
4. How to Install a FAN in the System
If fans are installed in the system, please consider the airflow direction of each fan. The airflow from the power supply’s fan and other fans should not interfere with one another.

5. Vibration and Impact
Since the fan bearing is very sensitive to vibration and impact, Please avoid exposing the fan to vibration or shock during transportation or handling.
6. Maintenance
Perform regular fan maintenance based on its expected service life.
