President’s Message

The corporate philosophy of the COSEL Group is: “Responding to society’s trust through our unwavering commitment to quality.” We believe that if every member of the COSEL Group works to create sustainable communities in line with this philosophy, it will lead to our own sustainable growth.
Quality is a vital the key to achieving sustainable growth. To us, the word “quality” refers not only to functional quality like that of products and services, but also to every kind of quality essential for the sustainability of society, such as the quality of the value we provide to meet changing needs—in other words, the quality of work in sales, development, production, management, and other business activities.

Basic actions to fulfill our social responsibilities

We pursue a customer-centric, quality-first approach in all of our business activities, including product planning, development, design, procurement, production, sales, and customer satisfaction. “COSEL Quality” is the result of the combination of all these activities. Continuously improving quality gives peace of mind to and builds trust with customers and communities, which in turn contributes to the creation of sustainable communities.
The basic actions to achieve this revolve around maintaining an organizational structure and system that prioritizes practicing the corporate governance code, carrying out risk management, and ensuring compliance.
Going forward, we plan to expand these actions beyond the COSEL Group to the entire supply chain.

Environmental initiatives

We have established an environmental policy and guiding principles to implement that policy, and drive initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our business activities under an environmental management system.
As part of our environmental initiatives, we have been reducing Scope 1 and 2  CO2 emissions to achieve carbon neutrality—an urgent issue today. Going forward, we will ascertain Scope 1, 2, and 3 CO2 emissions, which include emissions from companies in the COSEL Group and the entire supply chain, to achieve carbon neutrality for the entire group as quickly as possible.
In determining our environmental impact, we do not think of the environment and quality as separate issues. Rather, we ascertain environmental impact with a holistic approach that connects quality and the environment. This enables us to implement effective environmental initiatives.
There is only one Earth, and we have been tasked with the mission and responsibility to pass on a healthy natural environment to future generations.

Taking on the challenge of technological innovation to create new markets

Recently the environment surrounding our company has undergone dramatic changes, and we face a variety of societal problems and issues. Moreover, the advancement of globalization has diversified customer needs. Many things have diversified—our approach to quality expressed in our corporate philosophy has changed as well. We believe that it is essential to accurately and quickly identify and respond to changes that result from diversification.
The vision stated in our 10th Mid-Term Business Plan is “To create customer-centric, Higher-value products and services that meet customer needs in a timely manner and be an essential part of a smart energy society.”
This means to quickly identify changes in customer and societal needs that result from changes in the world and determine what changes we want to make in response to create and co-create new value.  
To achieve this, we will take on bold challenges to bring about innovation in technology and manufacturing and continue working to translate that into products and services that provide value to customers and communities.

Working environment and talent development that enables everyone to thrive

The essence of manufacturing is talent development, and it is people above all that support our corporate activities. We will improve our ability to respond to changes through the growth and autonomous actions of each individual employee, which will lead to building trust with customers and contribute to creating sustainable communities. We believe that continuing these activities will in turn lead to the sustainable growth of our company.
COSEL aims to be an organization comprising autonomous talent who can demonstrate results by learning, thinking, and acting on their own. And we believe that broadening the areas in which each individual can shine will make their work more rewarding and fulfilling.
